I'm in Love...

With a stamp set...Sad huh? Just tryed out Papertrey Ink's 2012 Anniversary Set Pretty Peonies. And I love it. I really do.

I love the peony flower stamp and the outline stamp that goes with it. Just made this simple, fast card with this stamp set tonight using Early Espresso and Summer Sun inks from Stampin Up. I can't wait to make this card in more colors. What a fast way to "color in" a stamp without whipping out the marker sets! This image would make some really pretty tags as well.

Anywho, just a super fast post to let you know, that if you have reward points available from Papertrey Ink, I would definitely snag this set as soon as possible!

Good-night!

Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop

Good afternoon everyone! I am soooo excited that it is Saturday, this week felt like it went by soooooooooo slow! I came home from work last night at about 10:30pm and was greeted with my Papertrey Ink order for this month! I was so happy because I hadn't received any shipping confirmation email from Papertrey Ink yet, and my order hadn't shown up on the new website yet, so I was worried that it would be weeks before my order came in! I ordered on the 15th and it got here yesterday on the 24th, sooo glad it didn't take any longer!

I was disappointed because I completely forgot to order some DVD cases for the new Papertrey Ink packaging :( Owell, will have to remember for my next order! So, onto my card for todays blog hop over at Nichole's Capture the Moment website!

This month, it's all about being interactive! Show us how you take your cards to the next level, whether you have received your Movers & Shakers dies, or you're just inspired to create a pop up or swinging card without them. There are so many options for this theme, and we can't wait to see what you have to share!

I spent a good couple hours trying to think of how I wanted my interactive card to turn out. I also spent a good amount of time trying to figure out how to use all these new dies. There are so many different ways to use them, I might be here in my craft room the entire weekend! So I finally decided on a Birthday rainbow card using this rainbow girl image from Pink Cat Studio. There digital images are so cute! I have so much fun printing them out, coloring them, and using them for cards, tags, and scrapbook layouts! I used the Movers & Shakers: Sliders die, the Movers & Shakers Sentiments Stamp set, and pattern paper from The Paper Studio Daydream Doodle Glitter Pack. I colored my image with Prismacolor Markers, cut it out, and added glitter to the little clouds. I also didn't realize that I would need pretty thick cardstock or coaster board to attach the little circles together to make everything move right, which I don't have! Instead of using the 2 tiny circles, I used a round foam dimensional to add thickness to the 2 larger circles so my image would move properly on the card. So, this is my outcome!

Not bad for my first try, I love the rainbow colors together! My girls are having so much fun watching her slide on the rainbow across the card! Whoever thought of this Die Cut set is a genius, kids will love these cards! I have to make Mickey Mouse Party Invitations for a friend and I am definitely using these dies!

Thanks for stopping by everyone, I am off to try out more techniques, have a great weekend!

Papertrey Ink Day 9 Contest

Hi everyone! How was your day? Mine was good, went to work and got busy finishing the girls' Valentine bags for their classes tomorrow! I am exhausted, but took a mini break to put together these bookmarks for today's challenge over at Papertrey Ink! The challenge is:

Today we are challenging you to get in the mood for the introductions. Just create a card incorporating butterflies and leaves and you'll be entered to win big!

So my submission is this butterfly bookmark set!

I used Kraft cardstock for each bookmark, which measures 6" x 2". I stamped the white cardstock with the large leaf and vine stamp from Fiskars Aged to Perfection stamp set. Then I used a scallop circle stamp from Fiskars Wishes All Around stamp set. I punched the butterflies out of paint chip samples using a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I finished off each bookmark with a small saying from the PTI All Booked Up Stamp Set, added an eyelet and some thread to the top, and thats it! I love love love these bookmarks! At the end of this month, the girls school is having their yearly book fair, so I will be making a bunch of these for them to give out to the students!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Papertrey Ink Day 7 Contest Last entry :)

Ok, so here is my last entry for today, I created this card with the inspiration from this card here by Nichole Heady.

Another standard sized card using various colored cardstock and more valentines pattern paper from the Target Dollar spot. I used the Tremendous Treats Valentines set, the PTI 3 Heart Die Set and Banner die. The buttons are from Walmart. I used the bunny image and colored it with my prismacolor markers, cut it out, and popped up onto embossed heart.

Thanks for stopping by today guys, have a great weekend and good luck!!!

Papertrey Ink Day 7 Contest Post #3!

HeeHee, if I had known we could do more than one entry on these contests earlier, I would have posted a lot more entries!

Here is my 3rd entry for todays Papertrey Ink Day 7 Contest:

This is a set of 5 Valentine Cards that I made using PAINT SAMPLES! I got this idea from Kerry Buckley, I made my cards bigger and used more gradient colors. I got my samples from Walmart, punched out several hearts, and adhered them to a standard A2 card base with dimensionals. I added the "be my valentine" sentiment from the Tremendous Treats Valentine Stamp set.

This is such a great idea to get matching colors for any kind of punch outs for cards, I also made Butterfly Bookmarks with the technique. Anywho, gonna make one last Valentine Card today for the contest, and also to give to my Mother In Law for Valentines from my kiddos. See you soon!

Papertrey Ink Day 7 Contest Post 2!!!

Okay, so for my second entry to the Papertrey Ink Day 7 contest, these are my Valentines Top Note Die Boxes that I will be giving out to my co-workers this year! I also sold a few sets on my etsy! I always loved the look of the Top note die box, but never knew how to put them together. I found this great tutorial here at the Sunset house. Super easy to follow and I was able to put them together in no time!

I followed the tutorial for the boxes, then used Stampin Up's Top Note die, and cut 2 each of the color cardstock and 1 of the patterned paper for each box. To layer the pattern paper on top of the cardstock top note die, cut around the perforated edge on the patterned paper, and this will allow you to make a perfect layer.

The tricky part was lining up the top note dies to match on top and bottom, but once you get the hang out it, they are easy and fast to mass produce! I added a scallop circle color cardstock die cut and a white circle die cut, then used the Tremendous treats stamp set to add the images and "be my valentine" sentiment. I added some shredded paper inside each box along with some chocolate hearts. You can fit a lot of stuff inside these little boxes! For christmas, I used them as jewelry boxes! I love making them!

Good luck everyone!

Papertrey Ink Day 7 Contest

Hello everyone! Today over at Papertrey Ink, the contest is about VALENTINES! I am sooooo excited, I love me some Valentine Crafts, especially since my all time favorite (so far!) stamp sets are the Tiny and Tremendous Treats Valentines from PTI! They are great to work with and you can use them for sooooo many things! So today, over the next few posts, I will be showing you everything I have made so far this year for Valentines!

So, today's Papertrey Ink contest is:

In honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday and Melissa Bickford's new Heart-2-Heart stamp series, your challenge today is to create a project that incorporates hearts into it's design. They can be stamped hearts, die-cut hearts, felt hearts, glittered hearts, a heart border, or even hear shaped card base. Want to be inspired even further? Do a search on Pinterest or Google for hearts!

So for today, I am showing you a Valentines Card Set of 4 that I put together to give to my mom and sisters this year.

Again, these are standard size A2 cards, I got this idea from Andrea Walford, she has some amazing tutorials on her website! I used some patterned paper from the Target Dollar spot, added the "be my valentine" sentiment from Tremendous Treats, and used 2 out of the 3 hearts from PTI 3 heart die cut set. I embossed the larger heart and card base with dots, and put it all together. To keep the pattern paper on the card base with the embossed dots, I used sticky strip and just made sure to press down hard enough to get it to stick.

Good luck everyone, check out my other posts for today, going to do more than one entry, woohooo!

Papertrey Ink Contest Day 6!

I sure lovvvee me some contests! It's Day 6 of the February stamping release countdown over at Papertrey Ink and that means another contest challenge! With of course another amazzzing prize! I sure I hope win at least one of the contests, surely keeping my fingers crossed! I don't own that many Papertrey Ink stamps sets, so this would be a great opportunity for me to add some goodies to my small treasured Papertrey Ink collection!

For today's challenge, we get to pick a sketch from these here and design a project. I chose Sketch #4 because it is a sketch that I would normally never think about trying. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. So this is my entry for todays contest, a "Just saying Hello" card and Bookmark set.

It is a standard A2 size card using Kraft cardstock. I used Stampin up ink colors chocolate chip, handsome hunter, bravo burgundy, and night of navy. I use Stampin Up ink pads for most of my inking, since I don't have any Papertrey Ink ink pads yet. They work great with Papertrey Ink stamps, ink perfectly every time. Anywho, used the Papertrey Ink All Booked Up Stamp set and stamped the book image several times in all colors except Chocolate chip. I used the "Just saying Hello" stamp from TPC Studio's Card Crafting Hello stamp set and stamped that in chocolate chip. For the inside of the card, I added and image and sentiment from the All Booked Up Stamp set as well. I added a burgundy banner die cut and some brown buttons, then put it all together! I repeated the stamping for the bookmark, adding an image from the stamp set and the letters "read" from the small alphabet die cut set from PTI.

I think this would be a perfect masculine card for a friend or husband, the colors are great together! Good luck to all the other entries and thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink Contest Day 5

It's almost time for this month's Papertrey Ink stamp release! I cannot wait! I mean yea, I have no other choice, but holy moly I am so excited! Today is Day 5 of the release Sneak peeks, and with today's contest, there is going to be FIVE winners, each receiving 5 free stamps sets! Eeeeek!!!

Today's rules:
Pick one of the team members Pinterest inspiration photos from above or select your own piece of Pinterest eye candy to use as a jump-start for your very own creation. If you are linking from your blog, be sure to showcase your Pinterest inspiration and a link to the original source.

So for my entry, I chose this card by the very talented Lisa Johnson:

which can be found on Pinterest here.

I used the layout of Lisa's card as my inspiration, and came up with this:

I love and adore ALL the Papertrey Ink Tiny Treats and Tremendous Treats sets. They are are versatile and fun to use! I really hope they come up with a Tiny Treats Baby set, or a Tremendous Treats Birthday set! I used the Tremendous Treats: Valentine Set for this card. I also used an I Love You rubber stamp from the dollar spot at Michaels. The card is standard A2 size. I used pattern paper from this years Valentine paper sets at the Target dollar spot. I used the Papertrey Ink banner die, stamped, clear embossed, and hand colored the Valentine doggie, and popped him up inside the punched circle with dimensionals. I love this card, I think this may be the one I give to my DH this year.

Only a few days away until the new release, I can't wait to see what else the Design Team over at Papertrey Ink has in store for us, so far its been exciting, and I've spent HOURS upon HOURS on the website looking at everyone's submissions, there are so many talented crafters out there, its crazy! Good luck everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink 5th Anniversary Challenge

Hey everyone! Have you seen all the excitement that is already going on over on the Papertrey Ink website?! For their 5th anniversary, they are going to be having daily contest with the most AMAZING prize packages! I missed yesterday's challenge, which was a HUGE PRIZE! So today I am trying the 2nd challenge. The PTI Design Team has all contributed an image in a large free, downloadable PDF file. The challenge is to print out the images and incorporate one of them into a project, using at least one Papertrey Ink product! These images are all so cute!!!

For the challence, I chose Dawn McVey's Image and I thought it would be perfect for a Birthday Gift card holder! So I used the Papertrey Ink Gift Card holder die and cut one out using Craft Cardstock. I used a 1¾" circle punch to punch out Dawn's image, and layered it with a 2" circle punchout. I used to Mat Stack 1 Die and the Banner Die for a few more elements, and layered them altogether. I love how simple the gift card holder is, and this would be perfect for me to give to my friend at work, she has a birthday in a few weeks!

Good luck to everyone else entering, this is definitely an awesome prize to win!!
