The Paper Variety: Challenge Week 11

Hello fellow bloggers! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! This week the challenge at the Paper Variety is super fun, I love all the entries so far! I can't wait to see which lucky blogger will win this time!

For my submission, I am sharing with you my Hershey's Nugget tins! I love these, they are the perfect little gift for a friend, co-worker, or teacher, and you can always alter the tins to whatever you like! For mine, I used patterned paper from the 'Tis the Season Stack from DCWV! I love this paper stack, everything coordinates and is so fun to use, did I mention I love it?!

Each tin holds 12 Hershey's Nuggets. For each tin, I used 2 or 3 different coordinating patterns. For the nuggets, each strip is cut 1" x 3". I tried using redline sticky tape, tape runner, and even glue dots to hold the nugget papers in place, but it did not want to hold! I eventually just ended up using Scotch tape to hold them in place, and hey, it worked! The paper wrapped around the tin is 3" x 9" and I used the scallop trim punch on each edge. I added some ribbon and a saying from the Tiny Treats Christmas Stamp Set and a tiny bell.

I made a total of 18 tins. I purchase my nugget tins here for a great price, they are a tinsy bit smaller than the ones from Papertrey Ink, but are less expensive and still fit 12 nuggets inside. I can't wait to give these out as gifts!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!

The Day After

I hope everyone had a fantastic thanksgiving holiday! I know I am still stuffed from all the great food that we made within our family! On Wednesday, we celebrated here at my house with a Ham dinner, and on Thursday, we visited both my mom and Angel's moms' houses for Turkey dinner! We sure ate a lot! (Or maybe just I did, owell, it was great!) I hope everyone enjoyed and is now ready to kick off the Christmas season!

Aspiring to Creativity is giving away some awesome blog candy, check it out and leave a comment, its a great lot of supplies!

I am going back in to work today, but just wanted to do a quick post to say hello and show some pictures from the last craft fair I did. This one was also a 3 day event at a local mall. This mall is a lot bigger than the last one I did, so I expected to make a killing, but unfortunately, I did not do so well. Everyone was going to the mall to do major shopping, but they were not exactly interested in anything that was being sold for the arts and crafts fair. I did okay, but I was definitely dissapointed in the outcome. Nonetheless, thank you to everyone who came out and supported me!

The table setup:

My life partner showing off the goodies. (He was with me the entire time, I can't thank him enough)

The jewelry:

Jewelry after adding prices tags

Cards, Nugget tins, Kids Treat Buckets, Rudolph Spares, gift tags and S'more kits!

Some Character Christmas cards, had to display these, came out really cute!

My earring stand. I love this idea, the rack is from Walmart, it is actually an organizer for kitchen pans!

I am going to do one last fair this year, but this one is going to be one day for a few hours at a local elementary school. I may need to lower prices a bit, I don't want to overcharge for a school. I definitely want to support them and hopefully I will make some good sales. I am excited to make some school related items to bring to the fair. I am going to be adding some cards and bookmarks, but I think that is it. Everything else I still have left over! This fair is on 12-3-10, so I will post pictures of that one when I am done there.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend, bundle up, its getting colder!

Happy Wednesday!

How is everyone doing? I am doing well! I must say I am pretty tired though, I have spent the last couple of weeks putting together some craft fair goodies, I am exhausted and I still have so much more to do! This craft fair is another 3 day event but it is at a bigger mall here, and I am definitely excited about this one! I can't wait for this weekend. The only bad thing is I only rented one table! Yes, ONE TABLE. I don't know how I am gonna do it!

I wanted to share some of the things I made with you today. First up, my Rudolph spares. I got the idea from Kerry, she always has such awesome projects. I found these little tins at Michaels for $1 each and filled them with Red Hot candies. I like these tins better than the ones Kerry uses because they hold more candy. I added some reindeer patterned paper from the DCWV 'Tis the Season stack (which I am in love with by the way!). I typed out
Rudolph Spares" on the ol' comp and used Scallop punch to jazz them up a bit. Added some ribbon and a little bell and Voila! Rudolph Spares!

Next up, Snowman soup, which everyone is familiar with. Just printed out the poem on the computer and stamped the Snowman from the Tiny Treats: Christmas stamp set. It was the only Snowman I had that fit on the topper, lol. I like how simple it is though, I love Snowman Soup, such a great gift for a friend, teacher, or coworker!

Here are the Hershey Nugget Tins that I made. The Tis the Season Paper Stack has sooooo many coordinating papers, so I used 2 different patterns for each tin. They all matched so great, I love how they came out! Of course the tins hold 12 Hershey Nugget chocolates. I used mini glue dots to hold them together because for some reason the paper was not staying on with just tape runner. I cut paper into 1" by 3" strips and wrapped them around the chocolate. I used the Tiny treats stamp set again and added ribbons and bells. I am so glad I finished these, it took forever!

The last project I want to share with you today is these stamped tea light candles! I got this idea from this blog here. How cool did these turn out?! Since I had 24 tins and used 18 of them for the Hershey Nuggets, I wanted something to put into the last 6. I wish I had more tins, because I love how these came out, I think everyone should absolutely try this!!! So I wanted to let you know how I did it!

First, you need stamps small enough to fit nicely onto the tea light candle. Once again, the images from the Tiny Treats: Christmas stamp set were perfect! Each nugget tin holds 7 candles. I stamped 7 different images 6 times onto tissue paper. (I originally only had 6 candles in the tins, but my LP said I could fit 7!)

Next, cut out the images and punch a hole through the center. (I used stamps that I could punch a hole in and not mess up the image). You can use a paper piercer or any other tool to punch out the hole. I did this originally, but when I test-burned the candle, some of the image blackened. So I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole that would fit perfectly over the wick without touching it, that way when it burns, it won't burn the paper (don't worry, the tissue paper won't catch on fire). Then place one image over each wick.

Next, use your heat tool and melt the image onto the candle. You have to try it! It just melts into the candle leaving behind just the image and it looks awesome! I imagine you can try this with so many different techniques! Since I was making 6 different sets, I had to set up sort of an assembly line, which helped because I had them all done in less than an hour!

I added some tinsel ribbon around the edges, closed off the tin with some more organza ribbon and added a tag. How cute are these?!? I almost want to nix some of my Hershey tins so I can make more, lol.

I still need to finish sewing off my Christmas Twizzler/Pixie Stix pouches and ornament gift card holders, make some Snowman Soup buckets and Smore Kits, cover up some composition books for Holiday Planners, finish some post-it note holders, and add a little more jewelry to my stash. Whew, I will be busy busy busy and only a few days left to finish! I am so glad I took tomorrow off of work! Thanks for stopping by, check back soon for more finished projects!

The Paper Variety: Challenge Week 8

Hello again :) Just another super quick post today to show my submission for the Paper Variety's 8th week challenge! So many great submissions, I love them all!

For my submission, I used the Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge and cut out the "Will You?" image on page 46 at 4". The Marry Me on the Card inside was cut out at 2 1/2", I used Stampin' Up border punch and did some heat embossing. I don't emboss very often, so I only have embossing powder in white, I wish I had gold because the white did not come out so well.

Very simple card, I didn't want to add to much color because the patterned paper is very simple and elegant. Thanks for stopping by!

Mini Christmas Tinsel Cards/Gift Tags

Hello everyone! Just a quick post today to show you my mini christmas cards! I love how these came out, especially with the tinsel ribbon, so cute as mini note cards or gift tags!

I embossed each card with the Sizzix Texturz Kits #5 and #13. I used the Tiny Treats: Christmas Stamp set from Papertrey Ink and colored in each image with Prismacolor markers. I plan on selling these as sets, 18 cards to one set, and I am debating between $3 and $5 per set. What would you sell them for?

Anywho, I have 6 different sets colored. I have only finished putting together one, so still have 5 more to go!!! I also need to add the card insert and since the cards are so small (2 3/4 x 2 1/8), I am not going to stamp anything inside them.

I also made these christmas gift tags. I used the same stamp set and stamped 36 images (18 red, 18 green) on 4 pieces of white cardstock (each page fits 9 images nicely). I used Stampin' Ups Classic stamping pads in Real Red and Garden Green.

Then I stamped each image twice (one on the green image and one on the red). I finished with 2 gift tags sets with 18 tags in each set. I would have preferred to color the images with my prismacolor markers, but because they are alcohol based, they do bleed through the cardstock. So I used colored pencils instead that way I could stamp To: From: on the back of each tag. I finished off with some 1/8" ribbon for tying and I used 9 green and 9 red tags for each set.

Next I am moving on to finish up my regular sized christmas cards. I cut out these card bases for same standard size cards and added some fun christmas patterned paper that I had leftover from the last 2 years.

I just need to add the embellishment and stamps to each one now. I won this awesome set of Holiday stamps from Inkadinkadoo (12 sets in total) off of Ebay for only $15.00 last week, and they came in the mail yesterday!

So the girls and I are going to spend the rest of the evening making cards with these awesome sets! Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend, thanks for stopping by!

Busy as a Bee!

It has been a crazy and exciting last couple of weeks!!! I was so busy trying to get everything down for halloween that I didn't make time for much else! I can't wait for this weekend to catch up on things!

First off, I am sooooooo excited to announce that I won the Inkadinkadoo Contest that was hosted through ScrapbooksEtc!!! I won 1st place in the Scrapbooking category! Guess what the prize is?!?!?! THE ENTIRE LINE (181 Products!) of Inkadinkadoo Products! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! I still can't believe it, I am sooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!! I want to thank everyone who voted for me, even if it was only once, your vote counted, BECAUSE I WON!! AHHH! I can't contain myself, can you tell? When my prize comes in, I will be sure to share pictures!

I also won The Paper Variety Week 7 Challenge! I have had the best luck these last couple of weeks, I hope it continues. Having this much luck is a great feeling! I hope I can pass it on to someone else!!! Thanks to the Wonderful Design team at the Paper Variety and all their sponsors for everything they do, it is a great challenge site, I encourage everyone to put their creativity to the test and join them every week for a new challenge! I haven't missed one challenge yet!

On to another note, I am sitting here anxiously waiting for UPS to arrive with my recent Papertrey Ink order! The Tiny Treats: Christmas Set was out of stock for a while when it first came out, but it was finally available last week and I had to beg and pout before my poor dear life partner gave in a bought it for me :) It is supposed to arrive this afternoon, and I cannot wait!

Kristina Werner started the 2010 Holiday Card Series this week! Today was Day 3! I love her cards, she is very talented, and I am so thankful that she spends to much time putting together videos for us all to see! Check her out for the next few weeks, she will be posting a new card everyday! While I was watching todays video, I put together a couple of Holiday Cards myself. Very simple, just used a few Snowflake Stamps from the Paper Studio, as well as some Christmas stickers that I had stashed away for a few years. This is what I came up with and finished in about 30minutes!

I am going to be starting on my Snowman Soup and Holiday Smores Buckets this weekend. I have so much planned, I have to keep writing down my ideas otherwise I will forget. I found these cute little felt buckets at the Dollar Tree, I had to snag some before they were gone, I grabbed 4 of each design!

I also found these at the Target $1 spot, so I grabbed 4 of each design as well. I think I will use these to make the Snowman Soup. I am going to use the new Hershey's Bliss Cocoa Packets, they come in so many different flavors and look like such a fun treat for the holidays!

Of course one of everyones favorite project to make is the Hershey Nugget tins! I love how these look when they are done! I was waiting for my Tiny Treats set to come in so I can finish them off with some ribbon and stamps and whatever other holiday embellishments I can find. I was able to fill 9 tins with one big bag of nuggets! Papertrey ink has the nugget tins for $2 each, but I found these nuggett tins here for only about $1 each! The smallest I found was a bundle of 24 tins, so I can use them for Hersheys Nuggets, Reeses Cups, and Hersheys Kisses. I am also going to make teachers gifts with them as well.

I am taking a much needed 3 day weekend, so I cannot wait until Friday to catch up on things, I do have to clean up the craft room though, because this is currently what it looks like and I am having a hard time finding things :(

Anywho, thanks for reading all my ramblings, I need to clean up the house a little, then get ready for work. Thanks for stopping by!
