PTI Make It Monday #76

Good evening everyone! Well, okay I guess I should say Good morning instead, it's 12:40am here right now! This is just a quick post here before I head off to bed showcasing my entry for this weeks Make It Monday Challenge over at Papertrey Ink!

This week, Nichole's video is showing how to stamp with Bleach, then stamp again over the bleached areas to add some color. I was a little scared to try this, and I admit that I did say a little prayer hoping that the bleach would not ruin my stamps! (I used the cheap, Walmart bleach!) I have to say that I am happy with the overall card!

If you participated in the PTI Stamp-a-faire event you remember this card design from Nichole during the Morning Make-n-Take challenge. I wanted to use a stamp set that had an outline image to it, and so once again I am using the Pretty Peonies stamp set for the same card design that Nicole showed us.

My first attempt was to stamp on Kraft cardstock. The bleach didn't really soak through the Kraft, it only left a watermark impression. So then I tried again on brown cardstock and that just left a yellow, ugly mess. So THEN I tried it again on some pink cardstock, and it worked. 3rd times' a charm!

I paired my pink cardstock with the brown cardstock I tried during my second attempt at bleach stamping. For the bleach stamping, I used the peony from the Pretty Peonies Set, and the small flower burst from Framed Out #2. Then for the colored images on top of the bleached stamping, I used the outline stamp from Pretty Peonies and the small flower from Framed Out #3. I used Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose inkpads from Stampin' Up, and the sentiment is from TPC Studios' Card Crafting Thank You set. I stamped the sentiment onto some velum just like Nichole's original card and added a few rhinestones. (Can you see on the partial flowers that the outline stamp didn't quite line up?! Owell!)

As much as I would like to stay up and continue crafting tonight (I've started on some Halloween favors!) I really need to get some sleep, I'm exhausted! Thanks for stopping by, good night! (or Good Morning!)

So glad you hung in there-your final result is well worth the effort. I love the pink and kraft together. Great job. :)
