Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop and Make-It-Monday

Hello crafters! How have you all been? I am doing great, just enjoying some time by myself in the craft room today. We are finally all moved in, but have yet to finish unpacking everything. I am happy to say that all the essentials are unpacked, everything else is mostly just junk that I never even realized that I had! Sadly, the new house is not as big as the old one, so it is quite a challenge to find space for everything we have from filling up the old house. And I have to admit, I am not completely in love with this house...it just doesn't feel like a home yet to me, does that make sense? But I am trying my best to make it a home and hopefully it will come to grow on me.

On to another note, my craft room is finally up and mostly unpacked. I hate to say that I got lots of inspiration from the last few months from everyone's sites and of course from Pinterest. So while unpacking I started crafting as well, thus never really putting the room together but making more of a big mess! It's been a really, really long time since I have participated in any crafting challenges, so I am so happy to finally be able to participate in something!

It's blog hop time over at Papertrey Ink! This months challenge:

This months inspiration is a fun take on florals, ruffles & pleats. Leaves me envisioning New Leaf ink stamped onto Aqua Mist cardstock with perhaps some pops of Harvest Gold or Lemon Tart die-cuts! Have fun perhaps trying your hand at pleats or ruffles using your favorite ribbons. This photo sparks all kinds of amazing summery ideas! We look forward to seeing your creations!

I do not yet own any of the Papertrey Ink stamping ink pads. So I really had to dig around my Stampin' Up Ink pads until I found the colors that would match the closet to the colors represented in the inspiration picture. I am also pairing this challenge with the Make-It-Monday challenge! This weeks Monday challenge is presented by Dawn McVey and is the Step-It-Up embellishments challenge. Watch the video to see how Dawn makes her own embellishments using Stamps and Papertrey Ink dies! Here is my take for both challenges:

So for my project, I chose to make a standard A2 sized birthday card. I used Kraft cardstock and some patterned paper from the Recollections Garden Florals paper pad. I used Stampin' Up classic ink pads in Sahara Sand, Barely Banana, and Sage Shadow. I used Melissa J's Heart-2-Heart #3 Stamp set and matching die. I used 9 hearts in Sahara sand, 6 hearts in Sage Shadow, and 1 heart in Barely banana, and arranged them altogether on a separate punched circle to make a flower embellishment! I added a small rhinestone to the middle of the Barely banana heart. I used the Papertrey Ink mat stack die and stamped that in Barely banana with an image from the All Booked Up Stamp Set, and adhered my embellishment to that with some foam dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Fillable Frames Additions #1 stamp set. The inside of the card reads "May this year be your best ever!" and is from the TPC Studio Card Crafting Happy Birthday cling stamp set.

Whew, I think that's everything! It feels so good to be able to post again, I can't wait to come back and share with you what I've been working on! I've been in a crazy jewelry making mode for a few weeks now and I have so many ideas for what to make! Have a great week guys!
