Hurray for clean craft rooms!

You know when you are really in that artsy-crafty-oh-so-creative mood and your craft room suddenly looks like a tornado ran through it? And then you clean everything up and put everything in its place and it looks so pretty and clean and organized? I love that feeling! Haha :)

Over my vacation, we switched out 2 of the rooms in our house, so I am now very happy to have a whole lot more space in my new organized and clean (although not for long!) craft room!

This was the old room, just not enough space at all! In the 2nd picture I am actually standing at the doorway, so you can see it was not enough space for me! I would have to open and close my craft table just to make room in there, but now in my new room I can leave it up and still have plenty of room to move around and make new messes!

This is my new craft room and I have to say I do love it! HeeHee. This is my favorite part of the room, my desk, where I can do what I like most, using the Cricut and Stamping. The bottom organizer is a Clip-it-Up Ribbon organizer, I have ribbon in the top part, but instead of hanging loose ribbon on the bottom, it is the perfect spot for all my clear stamps!

This is the computer desk corner, I always found it a problem in the old room, since it is a corner desk, it covered up the window in the old room, so I am glad it fit nicely in the new room!

These 2 shelves hold all my loose bead and jewelry supplies containers. I have to have them enclosed otherwise the girls will get into them, plus I like to have them in a dark area where not a lot of air can get it, this way, beads and jewelry findings do not lose their color or start to rust. I got the white shelf organizer at hobby lobby and I put this up high that way the girls do not mess with my Stampin' Up pads and all my embellishments!

I salvaged this shelf from work, so I use it to hold my Prismacolor Marker set, sewing machine, albums, and patterned paper pads. The organizer on the top shelve has 12 small compartments and spins, and this holds mostly misc. supplies such as tape, staplers, sandpaper, paint, etc. The blue compartment thingy hanging on the wall is actually supposed to be for nails and junk, I found it at Lowes, but it hold beads perfectly!

The closet has a lot of junk really, lots of school books, boxes, CDs, lots of extra ribbon, basically anything not worth storing in sight, lol. I have my white plastic storage containers with my loose scrapbooking paper and scrapbooking supplies close the my craft table. I also have candle making supplies and polymer clay in the bottom 2 drawers, the other drawers hold my punches, stickers, rub-ons and other misc. scrapbooking supplies.

I had a lot of loose scraps left over from one of my favorite paper packs, so the girls and I made these paper chains! You can't really see the patterns mixed together here but it looks really cool, I love it!

So obviously I am super-excited about my new room, I just love it, did I mention that? LOL. Just thought I would share my space with you, everyone have a great evening!

Vaca is over :(

Well, today marks the end of my 9-day vacation, I am definitely sad. Time flew by, I wish we could have done more with the girls, but we did have our fair share of fun.

One of my projects to complete during this vaca was to completely renovate my craft room, and I am glad to say that we did accomplish it, so I will take pictures soon and post them up. We completely switched 2 of the rooms of our house out, so now I am loving the fact that I have so much more space!

Because we were moving stuff around, I didn't get much crafting done. I was able to finish this layout of the girls and their cousins today. It is always at the end when you are finished that you think you should have done something different. When this LO was complete, I kept thinking it was too plain, so I glued down all the butterflies, then I realized that I used way too many butterflies, but I used glue instead of tape runner so I could not pull them off :( I also wish I had put the title differently, maybe centered it in another way.

Owell, whats done is done, and I have to say that I am glad I decided to leave it as is instead of changing it, because way too often I am unhappy with the end result and I either give up or start over, wasting more supplies. Does this happen to everyone?!

I hope you all have a great week!

Dora Centerpiece Toppers

Hi all! In addition to the Dora invitations that I made for my cousin's daughters birthday, (here) I also made the centerpiece toppers to match the invitations. They came out really cute. My cousin made the centerpieces with some vases and filled them with candy pieces, and these are going to go right in the middle of each vase. So cute!

This is the majority of the supplies I used. I printed each Dora charactor on white cardstock and used my Prismacolor markers to color them all in.

Each colored scalloped circle is 5" and each white scalloped circle is 4 3/4". I tied together 4 pieces of curling ribbon around wooden dowels, then glued them onto the colored circle and covered each with the white circle.

After I finished all of them, I used foam adhesive squares to adhere the pictures in the center, then curled each ribbon.

They look great in the middle of the vases with candy, goes really well with the Dora Candyland theme! Anyways, hope everyone is having a great week, I am so excited that it is almost Friday, and then I have 9 days vacation! Woohoo!!! Night all!

Swarovski Crystal Jewelry

Making jewelry has definitely always been my first passion. I've gotten into all kinds of crafts, from polymer clay to candlemaking (my least favorite) to scrapbooking and cardmaking. I have not created any jewelry for a lonnngggg time, so I decided to start making some new stuff. I made these last night, and I am going to try and see if I can add them to etsy later.

I used 8mm and 4mm Swarovski Crystal Bicones, 8mm cats eye beads, various 0.925 silver findings, and fine soft touch wire. I had made a bracelet like this years ago and it is my favorite, so I thought I would make more in different colors. I can't wait to make a trip to the craft store, I have not browsed the new jewelry findings in a long time!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dad's out there!

Today I am thankful for Angel who is the best dad to our children that I could ever ask for, they are so very grateful for him and love him so much! I hope that he has a wonderful day :)

The girls and I woke up early to start a big breakfast for Angel. They made him their own father's day cards. I told them to pick out some stickers from my stash that they could use, and of course naturally they both wanted hearts and flowers and such, I had to remind them to pick out "boy" stickers, haha. This is what they came up with!

I also made these cards for Angel and his dad, they both work in a detail car shop, Angel had the idea of using the cars so I went with it for both cards. I don't have any "car" stamps, so I used some digital stamps that I found through Google. I used my Prismacolor markers to color them in, they look awesome! The first card is Angel's and the second is for his dad.

We are getting ready to head out for lunch and a movie, so I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend and has a peaceful sunday!

New Cricut Lite Cartridge

So apparently Cricut has a new line coming out called the Cricut Lite. I saw the cartridges at Walmart last night and wanted to read more into it before I purchased any because I had not heard anything about them yet. So I looked online and apparently they are not supposed to be available until July 1st!!!! But I went back just to see if they still had them and THEY DID! AND THEY ARE ALL SOOOOO CUTE! And only $39!!!!! I looked on Ebay and people are bidding more than that already! I don't care if you made a mistake Walmart, I love you for being as impatient as I am and putting them out already :)

Angel would only let me get one for now so I went with the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge! Gonna start cutting out as soon as the kiddos go to sleep, I can't wait to try it, will post more later! :)

Father's Day Cards

It's 2:00am here and I cannot seem to fall asleep! I hope everyone had a nice long, relaxing weekend and is ready for yet another work week!

Since I am already awake I thought I would share with you the first set of the Father's Day cards we put together this year.

This one is for my dad from the girls. All my dad's grandkids call him "Babu", it's a special name given to him from when he was younger and in the navy. I know he will appreciate that I added it on the card they are giving to him. I think the monster patterned paper is just too cute!

This one is from me to my dad. The best part is it didn't take me long at all! I love the colors and the crimped kraft cardstock.

I don't make masculine cards very often, so it was nice to opt out and do something for the men. I love how they all turned out, very simple. Hope to share more with you soon, happy monday everyone!

Custom Dora Candyland Invitations

Hello! How is everyone's weekend going? So far mine is good! I got out of work early yesterday, which I am not used to yet, I usually work until 10pm, so that was a treat! In fact, since so many of the girls at work are going to summer school and can only close, I am getting to open 8am to 4pm everyday for the next for weeks! I am excited!

The family and I went out to dinner at Ihop last night. Love being able to go somewhere for dinner and still have breakfast! This morning, I made a quick trip to Hobby Lobby with the girls and picked up a few things, including the June issue of Cards. I am loving all the wonderful father's day ideas, especially since it is so hard to design masculine projects! Can't wait to get started on my father's day cards tomorrow!

I have been working on a custom invitation order for my cousins' little one who is turning 2 in about a month. Angel brought home his "work" camera so I was able to get a few pics before I delivered them! The theme is Dora Candyland. I have to say this theme stumped me a bit, found some pictures through google image search for "lollipop" invitations, so many great ideas! So I came up with this design, and I think it turned out great!

I could not find a Dora stamp anywhere online! I printed out a couple Dora Images (3 different kinds) and Boots (2 different kinds). I ended up only using the Dora images on the actual invitations, I think I will save the Boots images for cupcake toppers. Anywho, I hand colored all the images using Prismacolor markers, if you would like to know which ones I used just email me for a list. I also used a couple of pattern papers from a valentines pack I bought at the Target Dollar Spot back in January. I used the Plantin' Schoolbook cricut cartridge to cut out all the cirles because its so much easier and faster! Then used brads from the paper studio to attach the pieces together so the invitations could "swing up". I attached some lollipop sticks and ribbon, and voila! My very own Dora Candyland Lollipop invites!

In addition to the invitations, I also made the cake and cupcakes. I used smaller printouts of Dora and Boots and attached them to smaller scallop circles for the cupcake toppers.

I love how they turned out! Anyways I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend, good night!

Waaaahhhhhh aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh wahahhhhhhhh

In case you couldn't figure that out, I was crying. j/k. I should be though. Because I do not currently have a camera, and I am soooo mad at all the wonderful opportunities I am missing to take shots of my kiddos running around the house like crazy monkey babies. It is officially summer vaca and I am loving it. Not loving that I still gotta go to work. Blah.

So while everyone else is allowed to post oh-so-lovely pictures of their newest wonderful cards and paper crafts and such, you just get words. Yup. WORDS. Waahahaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh. Ok I will stop. Hurry up pay day, I need some cash!
